Hi everyone,
This is Kimberly and I wanted to share my APILR experience this past weekend! It was amazing and really empowering. This year's theme was "Making The A: Awakening, Activism and Advocacy." This was my second time going to APILR and it was so nice to see people from last year and meet all the new people who are passionate about making a difference.In addition to that, I was a facilitator as well so I had my own family group, who were so outspoken! I was so proud of them.
I learned even more about the different Asian Pacific Islander (API) issues that our community faces as a whole and on the campus of UC Davis. It was a weekend full of meaningful dialogue and discussion that got me thinking about the history and culture behind Asian-American cultures, the problems and injustices that we face, and what we can do to as a call to action. It reminded me about how importance it is be more unified at our university and have solidarity in order to look out after each other as a community and individually. 
It was so inspiring to see how active the API community back in Davis was in the early 2000s and being able to hear Jolie Chea speech, in addition to the experiences of Aggie activists from years before. Plus, it was set in beautiful Sausalito! I have photos to share (at the bottom of this entry).
I wholeheartedly recommend to attend APILR 2013 next year, especially if  you would want to be more educated and enlightened on the API community here at Davis, in addition to having fun and meeting the most caring, down-to-earth, intelligent and funniest people ever. You create such a great bond with strangers in just a short weekend that you wish would never end.

This past Wednesday, we had a sisterhood date at Boiling Crab! 

Nomm, we Chi Delts sure love our food. :)

A week into Winter Quarter, who's ready for a break? ;) Luckily we just had a three day weekend!


We're planning a lot of events for the next couple of weeks! Spring rush is currently in the making, so stay tuned for updates in the following weeks.
Speaking of spring rush, we want to congratulate our newly elected spring rush chair, Nhi Hoang, and spring pledgemistress, Nanette Taniguchi! Congrats girls!! 

Chi Pledge Class formals are coming up in February! Stay tuned.

I hope everyone is enjoying the last remaining weeks of Winter break!

Happy Birthday to our beloved sisterhood, Chi Delta Theta!!
It's been 22 years with 6 Chapters strong. Let's hope for many more years to come and to continue our sisterhood 'til the end of time <3

As you know, Davis Chi Delts were at the BUZZ volunteering this year the Milk Throw Bottle game booth! We had tons of fun volunteering, sweating (who knew it would be so tiring?), and getting to meet some incoming freshman, transfers, and etc. Here are some pictures from the Buzz:

Welcome Week is over and done with, so it's time to get to business. Good luck everyone with your first week of classes! 

It's Welcome Week back at UC Davis and it's time to say goodbye to Summer 2011 because tomorrow's the first day of classes...
Don't fret because Friday comes just soon enough! And what better way than to hit up The Buzz, UC Davis' annual welcome event, on Friday to start the school year off right!? Am I right?!
We Chi Delts will be there, so come hang out with us as we work the Milk Bottle Throw carnival game from 6-10pm :)
It'll be tons of fun!! It'll be packed with games, performances, free food, as well as information on the groups and organizations we have here on campus.  You wouldn't wanna miss out on it!

Today is the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community Fall Welcome at Hart Hall from 5pm-7pm. Some of us Davis Chi Delts will be there, so make sure to attend and meet us, as well as get to know other organizations, clubs and departments that are on campus!
Everyone is welcome from frosh to transfer students and everything in between, so check out the numerous opportunities for you at UC Davis.
